We are delighted to announce that we are extending the partnership with the Charity of Sir Richard Whittington and the Earl of Northampton’s Charity The funding will enable us to increase our support to people aged 55 and older who live in London through the funding from the Charity of Sir Richard Whittington or in Norfolk, through the funding from the Earl of Northampton’s Charity. This will enable those people to adjust to the challenges of ageing and lead a fulfilling life.
Through this partnership we will be able to provide grants for essential household appliances, beds, bedding and clothing. Due to Covid-19 we may need to adjust our grants, if suppliers are no longer able to deliver items to the homes of people requiring support. If this happens, we will update you on our amended grants offer.
“We are delighted to be supporting the vitally important work R L Glasspool does. Through providing essential goods for older people to live well in their own homes it aligns well with the aims and objectives of our charitable funding”
David Terrace, Grants Programme Manager, The Mercers’ Company (Trustee of the Charity of Sir Richard Whittington and the Earl of Northampton’s Charity)
The Smallwood Trust
Our new partnership with the Smallwood Trust will enable both Trusts to increase our support to women, improve their well-being and support their financial resilience.
The partnership will provide small grants to pay for costs to cover basic living needs, reduced income due to redundancy or reduction in working hours, childcare, support towards rent or council tax arrears and essential household appliances, beds/bedding and clothing. Funds will be distributed through a network of community referral/applicant partners.
Paul Carbury, Chief Executive of the Smallwood Trust said “the partnership with Glasspool is an example of our desire to work with other like-minded organisations to encourage financial stability for women on low income and help respond to the current covid-19 pandemic”.
Julie Green, Chief Executive of the Glasspool Charity Trust said “during these unprecedented times it is more important than ever to pool resources as many women are facing extremely challenging situations in relation to their income, family, employment and well-being.”
